Dano for Model Number GLHS66EESB4 Had a water line frozen that kept water from dispensing. I tried to get to the line at the top to try a hairdryer (hint - I should have just unplugged and let nature melt). When I took off the faceplate, the ribbon cable came out of the faceplate board. After trying to fix the water line, I put the ribbon cable back in and things appeared ok. Next day, the auger started running after the freezer door was opened and closed. Tried to turn off the ice maker, pressed the door switch and ice maker back on and things were ok. Happened once more about a week or two later. Then tonight, I couldn't get it to stop without disconnecting the ribbon cable. I think I may need to replace the ribbon and the control board that is in the faceplate (not the one that I think is the power board that is in the freezer door). I've read where it might be the microswitch for the ice dispenser, but thinking the other two are more likely?
Answer Hello Dano, This is most likely caused by drinks splattering into the dispense area from ice being dispensed into the drinks. This can be caused by the microswitches 241689106 or the PC board 241708202. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, January 12, 2015
