Mack for Model Number tef326fbc I have a Tappan electric range. When the top burners are working, the oven won't come on.
Answer Hello Mack, Since the top and the bake compartment only share wiring from the terminal block, (where the power cord connects to the unit), back to the breaker, I would start at the terminal block, then to the wall outlet and back to the breaker. If there are any burned spots on the prongs that plug into the wall outlet, this is an indication of a loose receptacle and the wall outlet should be replaced. If you can sand off the burned places, the cord can still be used, but if it has heated up so there is swelling around where the prongs leave the insulated part of the plug, it should be replaced also.
