Peter M for Model Number FRT21H8CSB2 Just the Other Night My Refrigerator and Freezer stopped working.I took the Back cover off and Noticed that the Fan Blade(fan for coils) had come off of it's Shaft.Compressor was Very Hot.So I repaired fan Blade by just pushing it back onto its shaft,Unplugged the Unit from the wall and let the Compressor cool off overnight.Next Morning I plugged it in and it Worked Fine for about 36 Hours.Today it quit working completely until I messed around with the Temperature knobs and it suddenly Started everything back up again(compressor and both fans). It seems as if Compressor and both fans are working intermittently due to Cold Control needing to be replaced? That is My best Guess.Any Suggestions.Unit is 12 Years Old and not used alot as it is only Me Who uses it.Thank You.ps does the Cold Control have any influence over the Fans? And or Compressor?
Answer Peter, Yes the cold control will start and stop the fans according to whether the unit is at temperature or needs to cool. If you were able to play with the cold control then it would be a bad cold control. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, September 26, 2016
