Gary for Model Number LFFH20F3QWD My freezer is only about 4 years old and a couple days ago, it stopped cooling. I replaced the capacitor and it kicked on and started cooling perfectly!... for about 5 hours, then the cooling stopped again. It appears as if the new capacitor now died. I unplugged it for about 10 hours, just plugged it back in and nothing happens. Does this sound like a bad compressor? Something is happening that is killing the capacitor. Thanks!!!
Answer Gary, if the compressor is receiving 120VAC at the yellow wire, then the overload/relay 297237702 or the compressor 5304537072 would be suspected. If there is a continuous click every couple of minutes, then the overload/relay would be the most likely suspect. If there is not a click and the compressor is warm to the touch, then the compressor has failed. If the compressor is the issue, an HVAC certified technician would be necessary to perform any repairs. If there is not 120VAC going to the compressor, then the defrost timer 5304518034 would need to be tested at the blue wire for incoming voltage and the yellow wire for outgoing voltage. If the timer has incoming voltage but no outgoing voltage at the yellow or orange wires, then the timer has failed. If there is not voltage at the blue wire, then the temperature control 5304513033 would be the issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, October 16, 2019
