By: Frigidaire
Part Number: OEM17871849

This motor control board regulates the washer's drive motor, managing speed and direction for tumble and spin cycles. Replacing a failed board helps restore drum movement and consistent cycle performance when the motor no longer responds. What it does:

  • Controls drive motor speed and direction during wash and spin cycles
  • Executes motor start/stop commands from the main control
  • Failure can cause no spin, no tumble, or intermittent drum movement
  • Trigger motor-related fault codes on some models
What's included:
  • Includes: 1 motor control board
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; observe ESD precautions when handling the board
  • Access the control board per your model's service manual (typically in the base or rear cabinet area)
  • Transfer wire connectors one at a time to the new board; ensure each is fully seated and latched
  • Mount securely, reassemble, and run a diagnostic or spin test to verify motor operation

Answer

M. G., You will want to check to make sure that there is power getting to the control board. This would be checked on the J1 connector for 120 vac. If there is power to the control board but the power will not come on then you will need to replace the control. There is no fuse in the control panel that can be replaced and the most likely cause of the unit not starting would be the door lock assembly being faulty.
