Vulcan900nm for Model Number FFU14F7HBB I have a Frigidaire (model FFU14F7HBB) freezer that we keep in our basement, which recently got flooded with 9.5" of water. Once we got the water pumped out of the basement, I noticed that the freezer was displaying "HI TEMP" and 86 degrees F on the electronic control on the door. The displayed temp actually fluctuates anywhere from 82 to 88 degrees F. It had also been sounding the door ajar alarm, but that ceased once the door switch dried out. The freezer was still running and keeping the food frozen solid. The problem is that it never stopped running, and the compressor was very warm to the touch. I assume this is because according to the display, the control thinks the temp is 86 degrees inside the freezer. I unplugged the freezer, emptied the contents, disconnected each of the electrical connectors and sprayed WD40 in them to disperse any moisture. I removed the start device from the compressor and opened it. It was kind of rusty inside so I replaced it. I ran the service mode diagnostic, and noticed that the thermistor code was t0, which means a short, and also E8 at the end of the diagnostic. I replaced the thermistor, and the new one showed -- which is good. In addition, I tested the continuity of both the defrost thermostat and defrost heater. And, the evaporator fan is running just fine. After replacing the thermistor, I plugged the freezer back in and let it run all night. The next morning, the display still read "HI TEMP" and 82 to 88 degrees F. However, the water jugs I put in the freezer before plugging it in were frozen solid. I re-ran the service mode diagnostics and it's once again showing t0 for the thermistor and E8. I find it difficult to believe that the new thermistor went bad overnight. At this point, I'm thinking the control on the door may be bad, so I've ordered one of those. Any thoughts/help anyone can provide to me are greatly appreciated.
