Jim for Model Number PLRU1778ES my refer is cold on the bottom shelf but warm up above. I tested the fan in the bottom and it works, but it does not appear to come on and circulate the cold air. I'm wondering if the temperture controler is supposed to send a signal and power to the fan and if it is, than is it the most likely problem and does the controler need replsced?
Answer Jim, It's unlikely you need a temperature control, since the compressor runs and is cooling. The condenser fan motor 5303918774 the compressor and the evaporator fan motor should all run and cycle off at the same time. First check and make sure there is no frost or ice build up on the back wall (a defrost problem) and you should be able to hear and feel the evaporator fan running and circulating the air inside the compartment. Good Luck. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, August 22, 2011
