Josh for Model Number LFFH1467DW3 Hello, One morning as I entered the garage I heard a loud buzzing coming from my upright freezer. There was a read light on. This light is located at the bottom right of the unit. Next to the the red light is a switch. I flipped the switch and the buzzing stopped but the red light stayed on. That next day I check the freezer and the temp was 10 degrees which is higher than it normally ran. I cranked up the temp control to max cold but nothing's changed. Any thoughts?
Answer Josh, You will want to check the evaporator coils to make sure that the coils are not impacted with ice. If they are then this would be a defrost system error and you will want to test the heater and the defrost thermostat to make sure that they have continuity. If not then the part is bad. If these check ok but evaporator is impacted with ice then the defrost timer is faulty. If the coils are not impacted and have a nice even frost pattern then the issue will most likely be caused by the sensor assembly 5308037992. Read More...
