By: Frigidaire
Part Number: OEM6348684
Manufacturer Part Number: 240383703

This genuine OEM part is a temperature control thermostat for refrigerators. The temperature control thermostat is the part that regulates and adjusts the temperature settings of the refrigerator. If the refrigerator is no longer maintaining the desired temperature settings, not cooling, or otherwise not operating properly, it will need to be replaced. To replace this part, make sure the refrigerator is unplugged. After unplugging, proceed to open the refrigerator door and remove all the interior shelving. Once removed, proceed to unmount the screws that hold the interior panels in place. Once loosened, remove the panels to access the temperature control thermostat. After locating the part, unthread the mounting screws that secure the thermostat to its housing. After unthreading, pull the old thermostat out and remove the wire harness that it is attached to. Replace it with the new thermostat and proceed to reinstall the interior panels of the refrigerator. This replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with Frigidaire, Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Westinghouse brand refrigerators.

Paul for Model Number FRS26F4CW0

My Frigidaire Model FRS26F4CW0 was not keeping the food side cold no matter what the setting but the freezer was perfect. The cold food side controller thermostat I currently have has 3 terminals on one side (not counting the ground wire on the right side of the control) and the new part only has 2. How do I hook this up to work if there are only 2 terminals ( once again, not counting the ground on the right side of the control. I saw that someone else had posted the same question but the answer didn't really answer too clearly. Any help is appreciated. Paul

Answer

Paul, First off, it sounds more like an auto damper issue 5304482075 which would require a kit to repair. Some temp. controls have two grounding methods and will appear to have an "extra" terminal, which will be used, if the wire harness has a green ground wire in it. If the ground wire has an eyelet, then you would mount it to the original position on the casing. Thanks and Good Luck
