Help...my dishwasher won't drain. The cycle runs, but at the end there is water sitting in the bottom of the tub. Pressing cancel will not drain it either. My plumber said it sounds like it is "trying to" drain, but it's not happening. NOTE: I had a power surge that blew the electrical pannel, the electrician replaced the pannel, and this is what I am left with. I am hoping it is the drain pump/motor or something (anything but buying another brand new one sounds good)

Answer

Hello Tan. Make sure all the hoses are clear from clogs. If so, test and see if there is power coming to the drain pump. If there is power there and the pump does not run, you will need to replace the drain pump assembly 154580301. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
