Stacey for Model Number GLD2440RES1 We just replaced the heating element on our dishwasher. We ran a cycle and the new element works great. At the end of the wash cycle, the dishwasher started making a loud crackling noise. It seems to be coming from the pump. My husband took the pump off, no clogs. He took the pump apart and found 2 ball bearings in the pump. He is wondering if there should be 4? Could having the dishwasher laying on its side while reparing the element do the damage? Or is it a coincidence both parts went out about the same time?
Answer Hello Stacy. If the pump is making the noise, you will need to replace it. It shouldn't have damaged it by laying the dishwasher on it's side. We do not have the number of ball bearings for the pump. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, April 7, 2011
