John W. for Model Number 790.48143801 Kenmore elite 30" double wall oven Lower oven heats to temp, but then slowly cools (even though the display indicates that the lower element is being used). I've replaced the circuit board and temp sensor. Only thing left is the hidden bake element. Am I correct that I must remove the oven from the cabinet? Is it possible to leave maybe 4" of it in the cabinet, support the front at the sides, and be able to drop the access panel and change out the element that way? Is there any need to access connections or cables behind the rear sheet metal cover of the oven? Anything else I may need to replace associated with changing our a bake element?
Answer John, With the unit getting up to temperature would not indicate a bad bake element. This would be more likely the wiring between the control board and the sensor. Also if you replaced the display board then you would want to replace the relay board on the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, November 11, 2015
