Bill for Model Number 79074232310 Hello my gas range will not ignite front left burner. All other burners lite just fine. This burner is the one which has had the most use . I smell gas when turned on. I have cleaned electrode tip with a fine file and made sure assembly is clean.I am wondering switch or electrode?
Answer Bill, Find the switch harness connected to all the gas burner valves and disconnect the very ends of the black and red wires. [no power on] Check for continuity between the two wires when you turn the switch on. If no continuity then replace the switch harness 316580615. If you do have spark at the burner in question then see where the spark arcs to. It should arc towards the burner base. If damaged it will arc in all directions. If you have correct spark and arcs towards the burner then you might just need to clean the burner base.
