Roger for Model Number FRS26WQH My ice dispenser gives me cubed ice when I should be getting crushed. I have checked the solenoid that allows cubed ice only and it seems to function everytime. Could this be the part I need to repair my problem? The selection control on the outside of the freezer seems ok as well. The auger turns fine and nothing appears to be broken inside the ice crusher mechanism.
Answer Hello Roger. You will need to check and see if the micro-switch inside the dispenser is bad, and is sending power to the solenoid at all times. If so, you will need to replace the micro-switch 218479900. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
