Jim for Model Number LGGF3046TFA I have a frigidaire gas stove model LGGF3046TFA that's about 2 years old. I don't use the broiler because when I try I smell gas when the safety valve opens. I checked the lines in the back from the safety valve to the orifice for any bad spots or loose connections, but everything looks good. Which leaves me with the safety valve or the ignitor, as near as I can tell. What do you think? Thanks.
Answer Jim, Turn the gas off and do a voltage test at the oven safety valve broil side. You will want to test for between 3.0 and 3.3 Vac and if there is not proper voltage then the issue will be the igniter. If there is proper voltage then check to make sure that the burner is clean and there are no spider webs that you can see inside of it and if it is clean then the issue will be a faulty safety valve that will need to be replaced.
