The Gas Oven Ignitor is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire gas ranges and ovens. It uses electricity to generate a spark that ignites the burner flames for heating. To check if the ignitor is the issue, look inside the broiler oven while the oven is turned on. If the element is glowing a bright red, it's getting power. If not, it may not be getting enough power to ignite the gas and should be replaced.

Symptoms of a bad gas ignitor can include:

  • The oven or burners failing to ignite or stay lit consistently
  • Diminishing heating performance over time
  • Burners that intermittently ignite or go out

Causes stem from normal wear with extended use. The ignitor's ability to spark diminishes as parts degrade. No spark means no gas ignition.

This OEM replacement part is compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore brands.

For Frigidaire Gas Oven Ignitor (Part Number: OEM13299717)

Katie for Model Number LGGF3043KFR

Studied the online material for this Gas range. It's run on Propane/LP. Tank is 40% at present, range TOP burners run fine, BROILER operates solo, but has a 2+" flame length when Frigidaire says it OUGHT to be 1". Different issue than I am looking to correct atm. PRESENT ISSUE; I have replaced the (bottom) BAKE igniter because of VERY slow pre-heat. NO JOY. Pre-heat to 450 STILL takes 39 minutes. THE Flame Length (FL) is approximately 3/8" on Bake tube, NOTHING like the advised 1" FL that is SUPPOSED to be seen at 300 F when Troubleshooting. 1) The UPPER Broil tube IS NOT ignited during BAKE cycle and SOME information online CLAIMS there SHOULD be BOTH upper and lower burners during BAKE??? Which is it, please. Both Bake and Broiler tubes or JUST Bake igniter and tube. 2) HOW do I adjust the FL to get it to the preferred 1" vs the present 3/8" FL? 3) ALSO had an intermittent, LOUD HISSING sound that seemed to occur about every 10 minutes for 3 minutes then "quiet down" again while baking an apple pie. DID NOT hear this sound during entire 39 minute, troubleshooting pre-heat to 450 degrees this morning.

Katie, a low flame can influence how long the oven takes to heat up. This can be caused by partially blocked jets, or even a partially closed air shutter. It would be recommended that the burner is thoroughly cleaned and that the air shutter is as fully open as possible. When bake is set, a gas range would only utilize the burner that a cycle is set to.

Olive, unfortunately, the model provided does not appear to be a full model. If the number could be verified from the model serial tag and provided in a new post, this will allow the most accurate information to be presented.

Jay, If the unit is on LP gas then make sure that the adjustment is done to go to LP by tightening down the orifice 1 1/2 to 2 turns and make sure that the air shutter is all the way open. If it is set for Natural gas then just make sure that the shutter on the burner is about 3/4 of the way open. If this does not resolve the issue then the safety valve would be the most likely issue.

Josh G for Model Number LGGF3043KFM

Hi, I'm one of the many who ordered 5304506545 and found it was way too short and actually needed 316489403. While I was in there, I found that the screws holding the igniter bracket on are possibly stripped. They turn but will not come out. My concern is that it's either a.) the screws or b.) the bracket they screw onto (which I'm thinking is the case). What is the part that has the bracket? I'm unable to find it, it's the part that the gas and flame comes out of and the igniter bolts onto. I'd like to order this whole assembly to ensure I don't have to take this thing apart for a third time! Thanks!

Steve, These igniters are interchangeable. If the connectors are different you could cut the connectors off and splice the wiring together.

Jim, Turn the gas off and do a voltage test at the oven safety valve broil side. You will want to test for between 3.0 and 3.3 Vac and if there is not proper voltage then the issue will be the igniter. If there is proper voltage then check to make sure that the burner is clean and there are no spider webs that you can see inside of it and if it is clean then the issue will be a faulty safety valve that will need to be replaced.

Jim, The model number you supplied is incorrect or incomplete. We need a proper model number from the production tag on the range to properly assist you and make the proper recommendations. If your range has a waist-high broil burner (burner in the oven ceiling) you may want to check the gas supply tube from the safety valve up to the broil burner tube/elbow in the back of the range. If the tube is damaged, the connections are loose, you'd smell the gas when the safety valve opens and supplies the gas to the broil burner,
