Samantha for Model Number FEX831CS0 The washer is not spinning. Belt is fine. We replaced the lid switch because it appeared burned. Then when plugged it back in, it filled, drained and agitated good. It will not spin. When it got to final spin stage, the belt tried to turn, seemed to stall and smoke appeared from the wiring harness at motor, any ideas?
Answer Hello Samantha, I would check the brake as it appears it could be engaged when the motor is engaged. The brake on this model is actually part of the transmission assembly 134735700. You should also pull the spin basket and make sure nothing is between the inner and outer tubs while verifying the integrity of the trunion bolt tightness. Read More...
