Mark A. for Model Number LRA187MT2 Our Frigidaire A/C unit has stopped cooling. After the compressor stopped working for a short while it would work if you turned the thermostat way down. Now, the compressor never kicks in, though the fan runs fine. We took it apart and checked the run capacitor and it checked out fine at 38.8 µF. So we unhooked the ambient temperature sensor and turned the unit on. We got the "AS" error message but the compressor turned on (good think too -- it's hot out!). For now we are running it without the ambient temp sensor (manually turning it on and off), but it would be great if the thermostat worked! We tested the sensor we removed with a multimeter and the resistance does go up when the temp goes down. Do you think it is the temperature señor, or could it be the board?
Answer Hello Mark. It sounds like the board is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, June 2, 2016
