The Oven Probe is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire electric ranges. As an essential safety device, it monitors internal temperatures accurately during baking and roasting cycles.  This probe measures approximately 8 inches.

Causes of a bad oven probe can include normal wear from continual high heat usage. Exposure to splatters or spills may damage fragile connection wires or compromise sensor accuracy over many years.

Symptoms of a bad oven probe are:

  • Inability to selectcooking modes like bake, roast or broil requiring temperature control  
  • Faulty or inconsistent temperature readings during heating
  • Error messages regarding probe malfunctions
  • Premature heating element burnouts without regulating feedback

Hello Ray. Shorted Probe or connection. 1. (F30 or F31) Check resistance at room temperature & compare to RTD Sensor resistance chart. If resistance does not match the RTD chart replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check Sensor wiring harness between EOC & Sensor Probe connector. 2. (F30 or F31) Check resistance at room temperature, if less than 500 ohms, replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check for shorted Sensor Probe harness between EOC & Probe connector. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
