Andrea for Model Number GLHS65EHW6 Our 8 year old Frigidaire refrigerator freezer registers -17 then refrigerator temp. will begin to go up I guess because it's freezing up. The appliance guy replaced the control box twice (thinking the first one may have been deficient) and every other part he could think of that could be causing this problem. He checked compressor and fan and they are working. After 5 trips to our house it is still happening. I'm about to call him again and would like to know your ideas about this problem so that maybe it will help him. He is frustrated as are we. Could something have gotten knocked loose when I vacuumed underneath a couple of months ago. He doesn't seem to think so. Need all the help we can get. Thanks so much!
Answer Andrea, The vacuuming of the unit would not have caused the issue that you are having. With this issue it sounds like either the thermistors for the unit are faulty or the damper door is getting stuck closed and not opening properly. This would be the most likely scenario of the damper door sticking and not allowing the cold air into the refrigerator compartment. Read More...
