K.P. for Model Number PHS66EJSB0 The freezer coil is freezing up, it takes almost two weeks to completely ice over. I've replaced the control board, heater-defrost and defrost thermostat. Not sure what else to do. I'm defrosting by unplugging and leaving the freezer door open, once a week but it's not practical. It takes about 5 hours for the coil to completely thaw out. When it runs, it seems to run fine although every once in a while, I notice the freezer temperature reading completely off. I set it at 6 and sometimes it reads in the minus. Thanks
Answer Hello K.P., I would first check for poor electrical connections at the defrost thermostat, (common issue in the freezer compartment due to moisture causing corrosion on connections). To prevent this from occurring, after installing the defrost thermostat with either wire nuts or crimp connectors, put a bit of grease into the end of the connectors anywhere moisture could get to the connections. This repels moisture and keeps the connections free of corrosion. If this doesn't correct the issue, I would call in and have a new control shipped under the part warranty since this could easily be a control issue. There is a remote possibility of it being a wiring harness issue but this is a less common occurrence. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, July 20, 2015
