This oven temperature sensor detects the internal temperature and sends readings to the range control so the oven can maintain accurate cooking temperatures. Replaces a failed or intermittent sensor to restore reliable temperature control. What it does:

  • Senses oven cavity temperature and provides temperature data to the control board
  • Helps the control maintain set bake/roast temperatures
  • Common symptom: oven temperature is incorrect or fluctuates during cooking
  • Common symptom: cook cycles take too long or oven does not reach set temperature
  • Common symptom: oven displays a temperature sensor or sensor fault code

Install notes:

Cooter, if the compressor and fans operate but cool air is not produced, there would be a sealed system failure that would require an EPA-certified technician to diagnose and repair. If the compressor does not turn on but the fans do, the main control would need to be tested for 120VAC from the red wire at connection RY7 to the blue/white wire at connection P9. If there is not 120VAC, the control has failed. If there is, the capacitor would be a likely cause of failure.
