G.D. for Model Number FGBD2438PF3A Question: I typed in the Door Spring item no. #154579101 for DW, model FGBD2438PF3A, and your site came up with # AP3958752. According to a number of websites, that door spring i.d. was replaced with door spring 154579101. I suspect it was replaced, due to the OEM inferior door spring that came with the Frigidaire FGBD2438PF3A Dishwasher we've had only 5 years with only two, over 60yr old residents using it and using it very seldom. The door started to drop lower and became hard to handle for the wife. I checked the door assembly out and found the door springs to be stretched and distorted from its original shape. I've not seen that in any dishwasher I had to work on and install or take out over the decades of being a plumber. I also find these springs to be OVER-PRICED to say the least. Most prices on the net are in the mid to high 40's to the 50's. Ridiculous for 2 damn springs. This is a no brainer to fix but, my original question.. why are you showing an obsolete number, when everyone else is showing the replacement no. of 15457901 ?? which I typed in when looking for it on your site.
Answer G.D., the door spring 154579101 is the most current part number listed by the manufacturer and the part numbers it replaces are listed after it as a reference to indicate the previous part number allocations. The part number AP3958752 is the distributor part number that we utilize. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, November 12, 2019
