Clay S for Model Number Frigidaire Refrigerator Model FRS26F4CW1 My question is about a Frigidaire Model FRS26F4CW1. I can hear the evaporator fan try to start when the compressor is not running. This repeats several times before it finally starts and continues to running. I have taken the cover off the evaporator and checked the fan, it appeared to be OK. It turns smoothly, freely and shows no visible damage. The way the evaporator fan swings in the rubber isolation mount makes me wonder if that has damaged the wiring or the funky connector plug at the fan and caused an intermittent connection problem. What do you think?
Answer Clay, The evaporator fan most likely is not what is trying to turn on when the unit compressor starts if you are hearing a clicking noise. This would sound more likely that the compressor start relay that is making the clicking noise and you will want to check to make sure that the condenser fan is running and check to make sure that the compressor is not what is clicking.
