The Compressor Start Kit is an OEM part for Frigidaire refrigerators. It is responsible for providing a reliable start-up for the compressor. It includes the necessary components to assist in initiating the compressor's motor, allowing it to run efficiently.

A bad compressor start kit can occur due to electrical issues, damage, or wear over time. If the start kit fails, it can lead to problems such as the compressor not starting, warm temperatures inside the refrigerator, or inconsistent cooling performance.

Symptoms of a bad compressor start kit include:

  • Compressor not starting or struggling to start.
  • Warm temperatures inside the refrigerator.
  • Inconsistent cooling or inadequate cooling.
  • Unusual noises coming from the compressor.

If you're experiencing any of these issues, it's time to replace the compressor start kit with this genuine part. Restore the proper functioning and cooling performance of your refrigerator with a new compressor start kit. This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

David for Model Number FRS26KF6CB2

Our fridge has been making a buzzing noise when it kicks on - it lasts for several seconds then goes away. The fridge has been operating properly otherwise... until today. My wife came and got me when she found water on the floor in front of the freezer side, then opened it and found the ice cubes and most of the food in a state of defrost. I pulled it out and removed the lower panel to see if I could see anything - and couldn't see much because it was covered in dust/dirt. I unplugged it and took time to clean it out - fan, compressor, coils...all nice and clean now. When I plugged it back in, the buzzing immediately started - coming from the compressor area (left side?) - but the fan was running fine, lights inside were on - fans inside were blowing, etc. Compressor was hot to the touch. It clicked and stopped buzzing at the same time after several seconds. A minute or so later, it repeated this process. So I don't know if it's starting or getting hot then kicking off or what. I'm hoping it's the starter relay - and hoping someone with more experience can give me some pointers. Thanks in advance!
