Manufacturer Part Number: 5304509460

The Door Switch is an OEM part for Frigidaire microwaves. It plays a crucial role in the microwave's overall function by detecting when the door is open or closed. The door switch communicates this information to the control board, enabling it to safely operate the microwave's electronic components and magnetron when the door is shut.

Symptoms of a bad door switch include:

  • The microwave failing to operate or function properly with the door closed
  • Inability to start or pause operation when the door is opened
  • Error codes or failure messages appearing on the display related to door functionality

Causes of a bad door switch can be wear and tear over time, damage from repeated opening and closing of the microwave door, or impact from accidental mishandling.

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Admiral, Crosley, White-Westinghouse, and Kenmore models.

Dan for Model Number FGMV175QFA

microwave keeps tripping a 20 amp dedicated breaker. Can go for days with no problem, then suddenly happen several times per day. This has been going on for many months. Sometimes after using it, when I close the door, the fan and light turn on. If I open and close the door again, they will turn off. It seems that the door latch is part of the issue. Often I have to open and close the door to "reset" it. Is this likely a door switch issue and if so, which switch? How do I test each switch? Thank you.

Answer

Dan, It is recommended that all three switches are replaced at the same time. Make sure the switch assembly that houses the switches is not damaged in any way and use caution when replacing the switches to not break any tabs on the holder because they do break easily. Testing these switches is a continuity test between the terminals and you want the reading to change when you open and close the door. The fuse blowing is a sign of a switch problem if the filter board that holds the fuse is not damaged in any way.
