The Water Level Float Switch Assembly is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire dishwashers. It uses a floating switch design to accurately sense water levels filling and draining during cycles. Proper level detection allows for optimized wash and rinse action and water volume control.

Causes of a bad float switch assembly can include wear and tear over many years of use, interfering with free float movement. Mineral or scale deposits may accumulate on float components, inhibiting functionality. Physical damage from impact could introduce leaks.

Symptoms of a bad float switch assembly include issues such as:

  • Inability to properly detect water levels
  • Long fill or drain times
  • Failure to fill or drain completely
  • Potential overflow or standing water issues
  • Error codes pointing to level sensor faults

This OEM Frigidaire replacement part is also compatible with some Electrolux, Westinghouse, and Kenmore dishwashers.

Hello David. It sounds like the drain hose is clogged or the pump is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Check the hose first. If it is clear, then see if there is power to the pump. If there is power, and it does not drain, replace the pump on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
