The Water Level Float Switch Assembly is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire dishwashers. It uses a floating switch design to accurately sense water levels filling and draining during cycles. Proper level detection allows for optimized wash and rinse action and water volume control.

Causes of a bad float switch assembly can include wear and tear over many years of use, interfering with free float movement. Mineral or scale deposits may accumulate on float components, inhibiting functionality. Physical damage from impact could introduce leaks.

Symptoms of a bad float switch assembly include issues such as:

  • Inability to properly detect water levels
  • Long fill or drain times
  • Failure to fill or drain completely
  • Potential overflow or standing water issues
  • Error codes pointing to level sensor faults

This OEM Frigidaire replacement part is also compatible with some Electrolux, Westinghouse, and Kenmore dishwashers.

Hello J.C., This is the indication of a power failure. Since starting over does not correct the issue, turn power off to the unit and check the power connection by removing the kick panel and open the power connection box. Check the wire nuts for any loose connections. This is the most common cause of this condition. If no loose connections are found, check the breaker for issues. In isolated instances there can be a loose connection to the motor, door switch, failing door switches and/or a failed control board. All of these have to be checked to pinpoint the cause of the problem.
