The Water Level Float Switch Assembly is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire dishwashers. It uses a floating switch design to accurately sense water levels filling and draining during cycles. Proper level detection allows for optimized wash and rinse action and water volume control.

Causes of a bad float switch assembly can include wear and tear over many years of use, interfering with free float movement. Mineral or scale deposits may accumulate on float components, inhibiting functionality. Physical damage from impact could introduce leaks.

Symptoms of a bad float switch assembly include issues such as:

  • Inability to properly detect water levels
  • Long fill or drain times
  • Failure to fill or drain completely
  • Potential overflow or standing water issues
  • Error codes pointing to level sensor faults

This OEM Frigidaire replacement part is also compatible with some Electrolux, Westinghouse, and Kenmore dishwashers.

Hello Bandy, If you can hear the motor running, you need to check the filters and the spray arms for clogs. If it isn't making any motor noise during this time and voltage is being supplied to the motor, the motor 154844301 has failed and needs to be replaced. Of course, you should first check the water level when the unit has finished filling. If the water level is low, (it should be within about half an inch below the heating element), either the water valve 154637401 has failed or the water level float is stuck in the up position.
