Don for Model Number FDE336RES2 I have a frigidaire dryer. I first replaced the thermal limiter about a month ago. This is the 2nd time the limiter has gone out & this time the top rear of the dryer was very hot to the touch. I have just replaced the thermal limiter & have not started the dryer yet, because I noticed a piece of scorched eight inch leather type insulation on the top left part of the heater unit housing. I cannot find this eight inch insulation on any parts drawing. What is it for? Or is it something that got inside the dryer and got caught on the housing, heated up & caused the limiter to trip? It looks like it may fit somewhere on the top of the housing because some holes in it seem to match with staples that are on top of the heater housing
Answer Hi Don. The scorched part is actually the drum felts that are adhere to the inner area of your dryer's front panel assembly. There are 2 separate parts. The upper glide and the lower felt kit. These along with your rear drum bearing keep your drum centered between the front panel and rear bulkhead assembly. The upper felt glide is part # 5303937139. The lower felt kit is part # 5303283286. The rear drum bearing is part # 5303281153. Thank you. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, July 14, 2011
