Clark E. for Model Number GE We recently had to replace our top support GE part WH49X20925 due to sagging. The machine had squeeked for awhile during agitation and then just stopped altogether. The part was actually bent and loose. Replacing the part fixed the issue. We hypothesize that it may have been caused by initial use after installation when the installer failed to remove the packing rod at the base and the machine jumped all over the basement for a minute. Is that a possibility, or if not what would one have to do to bend and loosen this part? Thank you
Answer Hello Clark, The failure of this part was due to the material used in the manufacture of the part. GE had a factory rework on these because of the weak metal used. The part will need to be replaced since the original part can never be re-shaped and hold the correct shape. The exact kit used to correct the situation has to be looked up by the model number listed on the units' I.D. tag. Repost with that information of call us at 1-877-477-7278 and one of our representatives can look that information up for you. Read More...
