Theo for Model Number WBSE2090A2WW I posted a question 1/19/12 about replacing my GE agitator. I replaced it and it is not the problem. I removed the washer front panel and ran a cycle with no clothes. When the mach began to spin the noise was evident. It is from the transmission. the noise is metalic. Does it mean the whole transmission needs to be replaced (Item 320). What can I do to repair this mach? Transmission is firm to the tub, Nothing is loose so I suspect this is a internal problem ? Something loose or broken. Is it safe to use the washer until I can get it fixed? I appreciate your opinion. Thank you!
Answer Theo, Yes, you'll need to replace the transmission WH38X10002. The part is a "sealed" unit,by the manufacturer, any internal malfunction will require a complete transmission replacement. It's not that "hard" a repair, just cumbersome and a bit time consuming.
