Davesean for Model Number WPRE6100G0WT Just ordered a belt for my GE washer and it's going to fit extremely tight, if I can even stretch it enough to fit. The belt barely fits on the tub's pulley and I'm having a hard time stretching it over the motor's pulley. The belt I ordered is part number WH01X10302 which is a 6-rib belt. The original belt on my washer is a 5-rib belt, number WH01X10353. When I lay both belts side by side, the original belt is almost 1" longer than the new one. I know that it'll stretch over time but by that much? I'm wondering if I ordered the correct belt. I know that there's an installation tool available to help install the new belt but I'm not sure I'd be able to stretch it even with the tool. Is there a how to video available for installing the new belt? Thanks, your help is greatly appreciated.
Answer DaveSean, The belt part number WH01X10302 is the correct belt for your unit. It may be necessary to use the tool in order to install the part. The best way to get this on would be to pull the tub and flip it over as it will give you more leverage to be able to get the belt in place. Read More...
