Dek42 July 12, 2017 for Model Number WCVH6400JWW Replaced belt on my GE 6400 Front Load Washer. Keeps coming off and the pulley is tight. What can I do?
1 Answer Hello DEK42. Based on the information you provided it sounds like the inner basket assembly WH45X10142 and the outer tub WH45X10071 will need to be replaced to repair the issue. This is usually caused from bearing failure on the unit. Read More...
Hugh G July 08, 2017 for Model Number GHWN4250D0WW The repair video says that the belt comes with the installation tool. The part order says that the tool needs to be ordered extra. Which is correct.
1 Answer Hugh, The belt installation tool is a separate part and would be part number WX05X20641. Read More...
Catpat February 18, 2017 for Model Number Gtwn4250d1ws When the machine is spinning it makes an awful screeching noise. I know something needs to be done, is it the belt?
1 Answer Catpat, In most cases when the unit is making a screeching noise the issue will be a tub bearing that is bad and would need to replace it. The tub bearing is part number WH2X1198. Read More...
Donna January 13, 2017 for Model Number WHRE5550K2WW I have a GE HydroWave and Infusor that is fairly new and it won't agitate or spin. It fills and drains just fine. The belt is tight and the dampening straps all look good. I checked the lid switch with putting a magnet inbetween but it did nothing. This motor doesn't have the blinking led light on it so I have no indication of errors. I do hear a slight hum from underneath. What could this problem be? Help!!
1 Answer Donna, You will want to check the thermal fuse that is located in the wire harness at the front right corner. Test the fuse for continuity. If there is no continuity then replace the fuse. If the fuse checks ok then the motor would need to be replaced. Read More...
Dustin June 28, 2016 for Model Number GTWP1800D0WW Perhaps you can help - I'm dying here. I bought the belt and the belt install tool for my washer, and I am following the installation instructions/video to the letter. However, every time I get the pulley turned about halfway, the belt invariably slips under the pulley. I've tightened my zip tie as much as I can, and I've even tried using up to three zip ties to get it to keep from slipping, to no avail. I should also note that my pulley has no grooves, and that appears to be the case with the pictures of the part, as well.
1 Answer Hello Dustin. You just have to keep trying and apply pressure to the belt. These are extremely tight on the pulleys. Read More...
Budd February 10, 2016 for Model Number WPRE6150H2WT When the machine is filling with rinse water the tub turns several degrees, (in a jerking motion). When it moves there is a squeaking noise sounds like a brake that is slipping.
1 Answer Budd, You will want to open the front panel of the unit and check led light that is on the motor for a blinking pattern. Look at the tech sheet located in the console and see if the pattern matches one of the error codes which will possibly tell you where to start on repair. Read More...
Davesean December 26, 2014 for Model Number WPRE6100G0WT Just ordered a belt for my GE washer and it's going to fit extremely tight, if I can even stretch it enough to fit. The belt barely fits on the tub's pulley and I'm having a hard time stretching it over the motor's pulley. The belt I ordered is part number WH01X10302 which is a 6-rib belt. The original belt on my washer is a 5-rib belt, number WH01X10353. When I lay both belts side by side, the original belt is almost 1" longer than the new one. I know that it'll stretch over time but by that much? I'm wondering if I ordered the correct belt. I know that there's an installation tool available to help install the new belt but I'm not sure I'd be able to stretch it even with the tool. Is there a how to video available for installing the new belt? Thanks, your help is greatly appreciated.
1 Answer DaveSean, The belt part number WH01X10302 is the correct belt for your unit. It may be necessary to use the tool in order to install the part. The best way to get this on would be to pull the tub and flip it over as it will give you more leverage to be able to get the belt in place. Read More...
