Manselly for Model Number zisb360dra

Hi, ice make has been working fine recently but the freezing capability of the freezer section has been reducing to the point that ice cream has reduced to almost water. I have checked the temp sensors replacing 2 of them, continuity on the defrost heater element is fine and i have checked the defrost thermostat which appears to be operating at the correct tolerance. The firdge area seems to be ok at tempreture. Freezer currently at 17f to 14f over night. Compressor and evap fans working correctly. Drinking water is cool and crisp and ice cubes are good quality. Bottom of the freezer seems colder than the top section. Ice was present on evaporator when i inspected it, not a lot but defrosted it to be safe. I have also used diagnostic mode and all seems correct. I have a new defrost thermostat on order from you, failing this any ideas as to the problem please? Thank you.

Answer

Hello Manselly, based on the symptoms and your descriptions and checks this seem to be a sealed system problem. With the compressor, cond fan, and evap fan running the freezer should be able to reach 0 deg in a reasonable time. If it can only reach 14 deg at night with obviously no door openings the sealed system is not working at full capacity, one way to verify this is that the ref seems to be running constantly trying to cool down. This is likely due to a loss of freon or a compressor problem. You would need a service tech to check this further to confirm.
