Kris for Model Number ZISS420DMAS My GE Monogram fridge is about 18 years old. One morning, it wouldn't turn on for couple of hours and the inside temperature went to 48 degF (compressor was off all this time). Then the compressor turned on and has been working fine. It has happened two days in the last week. It seems to be fine otherwise today. What is your suggestion? Thanks,
Answer Kris, if it is just the refrigerator section reaching 48°F, the refrigerator thermistors WR55X10025 would need to be tested for resistance to identify if they are causing this issue or if it is the main control WR55X11130. At 48°F, the thermistors should measure about 10K Ohms. Each thermistor should measure about 14K Ohms at 37°F, 12.7K Ohms at 41°F, 7.8K Ohms at 59°F, 6.2K Ohms at 68°F, and 5K Ohms at 77°F. If the sensors test good and all mechanical parts operate properly, the failure would then be in the main control. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, June 14, 2021
