Frank for Model Number JBP23DR3WW Replaced the temperature sensor, broil element and control panel - the control panel 4 times. All wires have continuity. The oven does not reach temperature, and the broiler element does not come on in preheat mode. The element works in broil mode. The bake element comes on in preheat and bake mode but can't do it alone. Does the personality number have any bearing on this? I set it to 16; is that the correct number?
Answer Frank, based on the information provided, it sounds like the bake element might have weakened. The broil element only cycles on for about 20 seconds or so to help heat the oven during a preheat, and does not necessarily get red hot. This can be verified by testing the broil element for 240VAC during a bake cycle, where it should only get voltage for a short period of time. If this is the case, the oven can be turned off, power cord unplugged, and the bake element WB44X45494 tested for resistance. It should measure 22.3 Ohms after it has cooled down. If it measures more than 1 Ohms from this, the bake element is the cause of failure. The programming code that was used is the correct code for the model provided. Read More...
