Free Bird for Model Number TFX20JRXDWH I have a model TFX20JRXD refrigerator. A year or two ago, the defrost heater/thermostat went bad. Replaced it with Part # AP2071464. Worked fine until a week or so after I moved it to a different location. Then it quit cooling on the refrigerator side and frosted up on the back of the freezer. Inspected the unit and found the bottom heater was burnt out. Replaced it again with AP2071464. Worked ok for about a week, then same problem of refrigerator not cold enough and back of freezer frosted over. Upon inspection this time however, neither heater shows signs of being burnt out. My suspicion is that the defrost heater hasn't kicked on since being replaced and it took it a week to frost back up to the point of not cooling. Since part # AP2071464 included the thermostat, it seems unlikely to be the problem. So this seems to leave the timer as the next likely culprit. Would you agree?
Answer Free bird, With having a good heater and thermostat already in the unit then yes the defrost control would be the issue with the unit. The timer part number is WR9X489. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, August 22, 2014
