Lucky G. for Model Number GE MODEL # TFX20JRXDWH My original problem was the freezer worked fine but the fridge was freezing things on the fridge side. I replaced the thermostat (AP2061705) and the defrost timer (AP2061695). Now the fresh food side is not getting cold enough and the freezer side has ice forming on the rear wall. Is this a defrost heater problem or something more serious? I would love to repair this thing but don't want to just keep throwing money at a dead horse. Please advise. Thanks.
Answer Hi Lucky. It sounded initially like you had a damper issue allowing too much cold incoming air into the fridge (upper side). Now you have a defrost issue. If it is freezing on the back of the freezer wall, then the defrost heater (includes the defrost thermostat-prewired) needs to be changed. Part # WR51X442. Thank You. Read More...
