Joel S. for Model Number GSD900G-01 The detergent dispenser cup cover tends to not open when my wife closes the cover. However, if I close the cover gently, stopping immediately after I hear/feel the click, the door opens properly during the wash cycle. Should we just close it carefully and gently or is this a sign that a part is wearing excessively and it is best to replace it. If the latter, what part(s) do I need?
Answer Hello Joel, This is commonly caused by a detergent residue build-up on the associated parts. I would disassemble it and gently scrap the detergent residue from the parts. If necessary, replace the "O" ring on the shaft by taking it with you to a local hardware or auto store and matching it up, since the manufacturer no longer offers it. Read More...
