Keith for Model Number PS978ST1SS I cannot seem to find instructions (preferably a video) on how to remove the top to replace the 12" burner on this specific model.
Answer Keith, unfortunately, we do not have a replacement video showing this specific model. However, with the power cord unplugged, there will be a screw on each side of the console that will need to be removed. This will allow the console to lift and rotate towards the front so that it can be disconnected from the unit. There will be 6 screws that hold the console base in place that would need to be removed, along with the base. There will then be 4 screws (two on each side) securing the cooktop to brackets. Once these 4 screws are removed, the front of the cooktop will lift up enough to disconnect a wire from the bridge board. With the wire disconnected, the cooktop would be set back down and then slid forward so that the wires at the back can be disconnected, allowing the cooktop to be moved and placed onto a flat surface covered with a towel.
