Curtis for Model Number PDW7880J01SS I see this replacement part I received from AppliancePartsPros (sump filter and cover) is somewhat different from the original part, an improvement over the original design I assume. The replacement part comes with a gasket. There was no gasket with the original part. When I try to install new filter with the gasket, I can't get the filter to lock into place. I don't want to push too hard fearing I might break something. Without the gasket, the filter locks securely into place and fits tightly against the coarse filter (which is metal, not plastic, in my dishwasher). Is it okay to install the filter without the gasket? Thank you.
