Curtis December 08, 2021 for Model Number PDW7880J01SS I see this replacement part I received from AppliancePartsPros (sump filter and cover) is somewhat different from the original part, an improvement over the original design I assume. The replacement part comes with a gasket. There was no gasket with the original part. When I try to install new filter with the gasket, I can't get the filter to lock into place. I don't want to push too hard fearing I might break something. Without the gasket, the filter locks securely into place and fits tightly against the coarse filter (which is metal, not plastic, in my dishwasher). Is it okay to install the filter without the gasket? Thank you.
1 Answer Curtis, as the manufacturer has designed the new sump filter cover WD22X10077 to be utilized with the gasket, it would be recommended that all parts included with the filter be used. Read More...
Doug January 21, 2019 for Model Number ghda986ko3ss I bought the replacement part AP4484685 to replace my current one due to the fact that the tabs that hold the top cover on were broken and the top was loose and it was not filtering the way it should. The replacement part does not have clips to attach the bottom to the cover that I can see and it will not stay in place. Is there something that I am missing? How is it suppose to stay in place??
1 Answer Doug, the fine filter screen should sit on top of the sump filter and the drain port of the fine filter is supposed to drain into the opening at the top of the sump filter. The spray arm and fine filter assembly are supposed to hold the sump filter in place based on the diagrams. Read More...
Tina June 07, 2016 for Model Number PDWT100V00BB I have the part WD22X10077 on the way (the one installed in my dishwasher is breaking away in little pieces and clogging the drain). But, I can't get the current broken one out. I have seen suggestions to pull the tabs toward each other...but that isn't working. I've slid screwdrivers down each side, and that didn't work. Any other suggestions??? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Tina. Remove the tub filter cover. Remove the wire mesh fine filter. Remove the lower kick plate. Remove the upper filter clamp. Unclasp the sump filter by using e screwdriver carefully and... more unclasp it from the inside of the tub. Lift it up and out. If you are unable to then you need to remove the whole sump inlet assy. Loosen the lt. clamp and the fwd clamp that holds it to the motor inlet. Be prepared for water drainage. Remove it from the pump inlet hose. Replace the filter in reverse steps. Read More...
