Mallik for Model Number ZGU385NSM2SS The ignition of our gastop is not working for last few months. I identified the problem with the Transformer. I replaced the transformer with a new one (WB27X21609) . The ignition system, that is, the click noise, the spark and the lights on the knobs everything worked fine for a few hours. After that it stopped working again. I tested the transformer with multimeter and found that there is no conductivity in the coil at the 110 volt power input side which means that the new transformer is also burnt. Does it mean that I have to change the spark module also? Or is there any other possibility? Can the problem be with the harness switch? The power supply from the wall socket seems to be OK. The label on the GE part WB13T10076 Spark Module is different than the part sold by you. So is the price. Is there any difference in the quality or specifications?
Answer Mallik, the harness can be tested for continuity with the unit unplugged to identify if any switches are in a closed circuit condition when the knobs are in the off position. If there are any closed circuits when the unit is off, then the harness has failed. The only closed circuit that would occur is through the lights. If the harness switches test good, then it would be likely that there is a failure within the spark module WB13T10076 that is causing excessive draw on the transformer WB27X21609. The part numbers starting with AP are specific to our part numbers, however, under the item images are the MFG part numbers. The parts listed are OEM parts and pricing is set by the manufacturer.
