Terry for Model Number GFSS6KKASS We have an older GE fridge model GFSS6KKASS that stopped making ice there is water coming under the ice bucket holder and freezing. Not sure where the water is coming from. When I take out the bucket that holds the ice over night there is a layer of ice on that floor of icemaker area. Thanks for any help or ideas you might have.
Answer Terry, the ice maker WR30X10097 would need to be inspected for indications of overfilling or a leaking ice mold. Signs of a leaking ice mold would require the ice maker to be replaced to correct this issue. The ice maker has failed if it is overfilling by providing voltage to the valve WR57X10082 for more than 9-12 seconds.
