Thomas for Model Number GFE26GGKBWW Having multiple issues with the refrigerator. Believe the fan in the refrigerator portion has failed, as the drain was caked in ice. This is not the first time we've had to do this, we did it several months ago, and at that time both of the drains were caked in ice. This time we only had to clear out the one in the refrigerator. We are not sure the fan is actually working as the refrigerator is now not cooling down. Top shelf is about 54 degrees, the meat tray is about 40, and the refrigerator is set at 38, and it's been close to 24 hours now. The freezer is set to zero, and an infrared thermometer on some items in the freezer show they are at 10 degrees. We are not sure if this other problem is related. It always seems to take a long time to make ice. Now the problem is that there is ice in the icemaker, but it won't dispense. Is this related to possibly the fan not working?
Answer Thomas, The fan not running will not cause the icemaker to not dispense unless the ice is clumping together. You will want to clear the ice in the refrigerator compartment and then go to the back of the unit and ensure that the drains are cleaned out. Once the ice is clear recheck everything to make sure that the fans are running. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, April 22, 2024
