June for Model Number CGS980SEM3SS same question, oven won't heat, but I have a different model. There is a light coming on and gas coming out, but won't ignite. If I wait too long to turn it off I get a boom sound when it finally lights. Yes I know this is dangerous. This only happens in cold weather.
Answer Hello June, likely the bake glow bar ignitor WB13K21 has worn out, that would be the part giving the glow. It is located at the rear of the bake burner tube. The test for the ignitor would involve using an Amprobe on the circuit and the ignitor's current draw should be 3.2-3.6 amps, if close or under 2.9 amps it needs to be replaced. Read More...
