John August 15, 2024 for Model Number CGS990SET3SS Thank you for your answer and the part numbers for my upper oven issue. If the problem is either the upper oven igniter or the upper valve control asm, is there a way to determine which one is actually the problem before I resort to trial and error of replacing parts? FYI, I do see the upper oven bake igniter turning orange but it doesn’t look like it gets as bright as the upper oven broil igniter.
1 Answer Hello John, thank you for contacting APP, If you have a multimeter you can remove the glowbar and take a resistance reading on it, this should be between 50 and 150Os resistance, you can also check the amp draw of the glowbar if you have an amp clamp by placing it around one of the wires to the glowbar and taking a reading with the igniter glowing, this should be about 3.2-3.7amps. If either of those is reading out of range then the glowbar has failed. If the glowbar checks good it is a failure of the valve assembly. Read More...
John August 14, 2024 for Model Number CGS990SET3SS My upper oven does not heat up when on bake. It does heat up in broil. The lower oven heats fine. If I turn on the lower oven my upper oven will sometimes light and the same is true after I turn the upper oven on broil.
1 Answer Hello John, thank you for contacting APP, This is likely to be an issue with either the upper oven Valve Control Asm WB21K10160 / WB21K10160 or the upper bake Igniter Glowbar WB13X25262 / WB13X25262. Read More...
Sonya December 21, 2021 for Model Number CCGS990SET3SS My GE Cafe oven won't heat. The setting won't display past 100 degrees. I removed the bottom metal panel, turned the oven on. The igniter gets warm"ish" but nothing else happens. Would that confirm its an igniter issue or a oven safety valve issue. Thanks again
1 Answer Sonya, Go to the oven safety valve and check for 3.2 to 3.6 Vac and if there is not proper voltage then yes the igniter will be the issue otherwise the oven safety valve will be the issue. Read More...
Sonya December 21, 2021 for Model Number CCGS990SET3SS My GE Cafe oven won't heat. The setting won't display past 100 degrees. would I need a new oven igniter WB13K10043 or igniter glowbar WB13X25262? What is the difference? Thank you!
1 Answer Sonya, Check to see if the ignitor is coming on if it is then the issue will more likely be an oven safety valve but if it is not then check to make sure there is 120 vac getting to the igniter. If there is then replace the igniter WB13K10043. Read More...
June January 04, 2020 for Model Number CGS980SEM3SS same question, oven won't heat, but I have a different model. There is a light coming on and gas coming out, but won't ignite. If I wait too long to turn it off I get a boom sound when it finally lights. Yes I know this is dangerous. This only happens in cold weather.
1 Answer Hello June, likely the bake glow bar ignitor WB13K21 has worn out, that would be the part giving the glow. It is located at the rear of the bake burner tube. The test for the ignitor would involve using an Amprobe on the circuit and the ignitor's current draw should be 3.2-3.6 amps, if close or under 2.9 amps it needs to be replaced. Read More...
Bill December 05, 2019 for Model Number JGB282EED1ES What is the difference between WB13K21 and WB13X25261? Can they both be used interchangeably in the oven and broiler?
1 Answer Bill, Based on the information provided the broil igniter is our part number WB13X25261 and the bake igniter is WB13K21. These are the two parts listed for this model by the manufacturer and they do not show them to be interchangeable. Read More...
Dave T. November 23, 2018 for Model Number PGB908SEM2SS My oven makes a loud buff when lighting. My wife is afraid to use it. Could it be the igniter? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Dave, This can be an issue with the ignitor WB13X25261 or the gas valve WB19K10043. I would recommend replacing both for safety reasons. Read More...
Robert Nannemann June 26, 2018 for Model Number jgb523aea2aa My inlaws oven won't light. There is power to the Glow Bar plug when the oven is turned on but the Glow Bar does not heat up. I can't see a break anywhere. I checked for continuity with an electric meter and it shows no continuity. Do I need a new Glow Bar. Thanks.
1 Answer If the igniter does not glow at all and there is voltage present, you will need to replace the igniter. Read More...
Rachel May 04, 2018 for Model Number JGB660DEJ1WW I need to replace the igniter in my range, what part do I need?
1 Answer Rachel, If you need the bake igniter then it will be part number WB13X40206, the broil would be WB13X40207 and for the top burner igniter you will need to get the orifice holder. Read More...
Frank March 22, 2017 for Model Number JGB918SEL1SS I need to replace the ignitor for the oven to bake. The ignitor for the broiler is still working fine. Which ignitor do I need? WB13K21 or WB13X25261? And is there any way of knowing based on my model number if I will need to cut the wires or if connection will work?
1 Answer Hello Frank. It does not specify if you will need to splice the wires or not. You will need to order WB13K21. This is a female plug version. Read More...
