Vicki B. for Model Number RB757C Oven element not glowing. Only about an inch of it glowed bright red almost looked like it was on fire. When I pushed the oven off button, I seen sparks behind the push button control panel. What parts do I need? My control panel screen pad is in good shape.
Answer Hello Vicki. Look at the bake element and see if it is burnt or has a hole in it where it was red. If not, test the bake element and see if it is bad. From terminal to terminal it should read closed for continuity. If it is bad, replace the bake element WB30X46987. Also, you will need to test the wires, not attached to the element, for 240 volts coming from the clock assembly while on the bake mode. If the power is not there, and the element is bad, it has shorted out the clock WB27X45466 and it will need to be replaced as well. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
