Tracey for Model Number RDE6300Y1 I have an old Whirlpool drop-in stove. It still works like a dream, but I need a burner switch replacement for the stove top. This looks like the part I need (AP2023620) and will gladly order it promptly (seeing how neither Lowes, Home Depot, nor Ace Hardware carries these items on shelf) but I want to get your opinion since you are the "Parts Expert." Since I cannot see the bottom, I cannot tell if it has a total of 6 prongs (2 to the eye, and 4 to the system itself) and since the model number, I think, is listed on the part itself (71178) cannot be found in any database that I can find on the web, will this work?
Answer Hello Tracey! The switch you are inquiring about WB21X36771 is used on GE products. The model supplied, RDE6300Y1, is a Whirlpool unit. For your model, it will use a different part number. You will use part number WP3149401 for the 6" burners and part number WP3149399 for the 8" burners. Thanks! Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, June 16, 2011
